Private marina
A private marina is a privately-owned facility for the docking and servicing of private boats. It offers a range of services and amenities to boat owners on an annual, seasonal or per-day basis. These services may include a full service repair and maintenance shop, fuel and pump-out, electrical hookups and storage facilities. Other amenities may include swimming platforms, a boat clubhouse, and residential items such as laundry facilities.
For developers of luxury condominiums, private marinas are becoming an increasingly popular amenity. While stunning ocean views and a waterfront location are still top priorities, many buyers now demand that their condo building have its own private marina. This allows them to step out their back door, board their boat and cruise about 16 nautical miles to the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean.
